Katla – the Lady and the largest Icelandic Volcano
However, when Katla returned home she realised that someone had used her special trouser. A furious Katla confronted the shepherd and beat him up. The shepherd died and Katla was shocked. To hide her crime she hid the dead body in a large container of whey.However, the decomposing body in the container got Katla worried. She started mumbling about the shepherd which someone overheard and informed the police. But when Katla got to know that the cops were coming to apprehend her, she wore her special trousers, ran away to the mountains and jumped into a crater… Which then became a large volcano!The volcano came to be called Katla, the biggest volcano in Iceland. It erupts once in a few years spewing up hot lava that melts the ice in the mountains and flows down as glaciers. The last eruption happened in 1918 and people are now waiting with bated breath for Katla’s temper to erupt and the volcano to come to life!All of us have a Katla in our life, who is your Katla? 😉
