Why visit Srilanka?

srilanka map

We don’t know how to describe Srilanka…Should we call it a tear shaped island in the Indian Ocean, south of India?Should we call it a cultural hot spot with Buddhist and Hindu cultures co-existing happily? Should we call it a history buff’s dream with ruins galore dating back to the era Before Christ?
Should we call it the die-hard legend seeker’s paradise – after all, it finds mention in ancient texts like the Ramayana where the climax gets played out here and the writings of Ptolemy? Should we call it the surfer and beach-enthusiast’s utopia – after all, some of the world’s best beaches are here?
Should I call it the wildlife-enthusiast’s playground – after all, the country  abound with wildlife and wildlife reserves – elephants to leopards to birds?

It will be simpler to call it all of the above. For this country is a combination of all of this and more. . . It has a rich bounty of nature, wildlife and is blessed with a lovely tropical climate. No wonder that it was inhabited by humans for ages. . . and hence a hoary history and cultural treasures. . .

”More(+)”

The traveller now can look forward to amazing experiences depending on inclination – culture, history, nature or wildlife. . . And the Ramayana legend follower can follow the legendary Lord Rama’s trail through this island rumoured to be the bastion of his rival King Ravana.

Oh and for topping is the most amazing local food and drink and the most friendly and hospitable of people. . What else can one ask for?
