Peru

Why visit Peru?

Imagine a place in the ancient past where a proud race lived. One that was far ahead of their times. And fabulously wealthy. Then came the raiders from across the seas who unleashed a reign of terror, destruction and plunder. So much so that the subjugated race went under the thumb for many centuries… But the proud remnants of what once was, withstood the ravages of time, tyranny and willful destruction… As a testimony to the greatness of a culture and the futility of terror… Stop imagining. This is for real. This is Peru.

Best places to visit in Peru

Lima: This bustling city more than makes up for its chaotic traffic and humdrum weather with out-of-this-world cuisine, dramatic coastal views and outstanding museums. We’d say the capital of Peru has a lot going for it — an almost overwhelming amount.

Cuzco: Formerly the capital of the extensive Inca empire, it retains much of its highly crafted early stone architecture, which is typically preserved in the foundations and lower stories of Spanish colonial structures. Cuzco was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983

Machu Picchu: More than 7,000 feet above sea level in the Andes Mountains, Machu Picchu is the most visited tourist destination in Peru. A symbol of the Incan Empire and built around 1450AD, Machu Picchu was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 and was named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007.

Sacred Valley: Peru’s Sacred Valley is the stuff of legend. It’s riddled with trekking routes that skirt rocky mountain ridges and paths once laid by ancient civilizations. There are bustling market towns where Incan weavers and farmers ply their trades, along with gushing rivers and strange salt pans carved into the Andes

Andes Mountain Range: Peru’s Sacred Valley is the stuff of legend. It’s riddled with trekking routes that skirt rocky mountain ridges and paths once laid by ancient civilizations. There are bustling market towns where Incan weavers and farmers ply their trades, along with gushing rivers and strange salt pans carved into the Andes

Maras & Moray: The tour to Maras and Moray is a tour through one of the most beautiful landscapes of Cusco. It goes through Moray’s Inca circular terraces as well as the famous salt mines of Maras, made up of thousands of natural salt wells used since the Inca period.

Things to note

best time to visit
The best time to visit Peru is during the dry season, between May and October, which sees sunny days, bright blue skies in the Andes, and chilly nights. It is a wonderful time to be in Peru, especially if you plan to go on a trek, but being the peak season, early booking is crucial.

Our Travellers Say

Dinesh KumarBeyonder Traveller - Belgium & Netherlands

The travel plan was crafted just for me – I loved the biking experience at Damme in Belgium, photography of the windmills and old world charm at Zhaans in Netherlands and the hundreds of varieties of beer in Brussels. I had the safety of tour plan and tickets and hotels and all other bookings done by Beyonder, but I had opted to not have a guide with me.

Kittu ArumugamBeyonder Traveller - Belgium & Netherlands

Can’t forget the walking tour in Bruges by the Canals with all the amazing stories and legends narrated by our local guide, especially the night walking tour… and, of course, the refreshing beer at a 500 year old pub! With Beyonder the trip was indeed not the usual… Thanks guys…
