Why visit Balkans?
The Balkans region is a jewel in Europe that is less visited, but is now coming into its own as the “New” Europe… A place that has towering mountains brushing shoulders with the sea and lovely beaches… Great wines, fabulous cuisine, rich history and culture… Man-made wonders like the Sea organ that gets the sea waves to make natural music… Natural wonders like the huge Postojna Cave which has its own railway track and post office… And to add to the beauty, many, many, Game of Thrones shooting locations.
This is a region to explore nature and experience culture… with lots and lots of tempting food and drink. We cover the countries of Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina as of now. Whether it is the Plitvice National park or the sea beaches of Hvar or the Istrian countryside or the sunsets at Zadar or the languid way of life in Bled or the war history in Sarajevo or the sight of the Bosnian Pyramids or the human-like Olm fish in Postojna – they are all must-see sights for the ardent traveler. As is the food and drink – truffles, monkfish, breads and biscuits; beer, wine and brandy…
Coming? It’ll be fun… Come with your family or friends… And its fine if you are single too…

Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Montenegro were honestly not on my to-do list of countries to vacation in till Beyonder put this idea into my head! As stupid as it seems, four countries in one shot is what attracted me to this tour!

However, after having finished this trail in April 2019, I have to say that put this on your to-do list, the bounty of nature in Plitvice, the majestic waterfalls, the bullet ridden city of Sarajevo where the echoes of the war still linger on, the experience of walking through a small war tunnel or bomb shelter – it was a trip worth taking! If I had to rate one thing that was better that the local Rakija drink then it would be the excellent Beyonder tour guides who were such wonderful story tellers and travel companions that it was an action packed 15 days, where unknown nooks and corners of the places were explored! A truly memorable 15 days sojourn that’s not too damaging to the pocket – once again thanks to Beyonder!
