Itinerary in brief


Day 1: Yerevan – Arrival
Arrive in the capital city of Armenia – Yerevan. Have the day at leisure and in the evening take a leisurely stroll through the Republic Square and the North Avenue.…
Day 2: Around Yerevan – Echmiadzin and Temple of Zvartnots
Start the day by a visit to Echmiadzin – the holy seat of the Supreme Patriarch-Catholicos of all Armenians. The Cathedral was built in 303 AD after the adoption of Christianity as a state religion in 301 AD. Later visit the ruins of the uniquely designed Temple of Zvarnots (700 AD). Day 3: Lake Sevan
Proceed to Lake Sevan, the largest Alpine Lake in the world, via the picturesque Avon Canyon.
En-route – visit the Garni temple – the only standing Greco-Roman colonnaded building in Armenia. (1st Century). Then visit the cave monastery of Geghard (12th –13th centuries) and the Sevanayank monastery in Lake Sevan.Stay in a hotel on the banks of Lake Sevan and appreciate the beauty of the surrounding mountains.…
Day 4: Monasteries & Mountains
Today is a scenic day through ancient routes and mountain passes. Visit the Haryavank monastery on the banks of Lake Sevan and then proceed to Noratus, the medieval cemetery with unique Khachkars (carved cross stones). Drive through the historic route of the Selim pass to Goris Town. En route make a pit stop at Orbelian Caravanserai – an ancient travellers stop.…
Day 5: Cave Town & Monastery
Start your day with a visit to Khndzoresk – famous for its Canyons with picturesque rock formations and the ancient cave settlement. Later proceed to the Tatev Monastery. Take the Tramway to the monastery – it is the longest tramway in the world. View the expansive view of the mountain gorges from the Bishop’s quarters in Tatev Monastery.…
Day 6: Zorats Karer, Norvank & Khor Virap
Visit Armenia’s ‘Stonehenge’ – Zorats Karer, an ancient site of megalithic structures. Then proceed to the beautiful Noravank monastery set in a picturesque canyon.
Visit the Areni Wine factory to experience Armenian wine and wine making. End the tour at Khor Virap – the most important monastery in Armenia. The site of St. Gregory the illuminator’s imprisonment, the monastery is built on the Ararat plains with fantastic views of the twin peaks of the biblical Mt. Ararat.…
