Why visit Maldives?
Maldives, a tropical country in the Indian Ocean, is composed of 26 coral atolls each made up of hundreds of islands (a total of over 1100 of them, of which only 200 are inhabited). It is a land of beaches, lagoons, extensive reefs, coral reefs, shipwrecks – a heaven for chilling out. Of course, Male, the capital city, has busy streets and markets along with a mosque made of carved white coral.
Tourism is a major source of revenue for the country with about 90% of the governments’ revenue coming from tourism and related activities! You can imagine the importance given to tourists and tourism infrastructure.
I went there for chilling… And did just that… So don’t expect great insights in this write-up. It’s a great place to chill… Just do that. And if you have a partner, go as a couple – it’s a romantic paradise… Even if not, you can still have fun – I went alone and had a great time with myself… It’s the perfect setting for romancing yourself, the Sun and the Sea…

The place is renowned for the pristine natural beauty of oceans and endless beaches where the active ones can indulge in a plethora of activities like swimming, fishing, scuba-diving, snorkelling, water-skiing, windsurfing and kite boarding. I, of course, had a grand time with my favourite activity – it’s called lazily-lying-on-the-beach-with-a-beer-at-arm’s-length.
On a more serious note, the Maldives is ranked among the best recreational diving destinations of the world. It was also reported to be the world’s most desired honeymoon destination…
Typically, a tourist resort in the Maldives consists of an exclusive hotel on its own island, with its population entirely based on tourists and work force, with no local people or houses. Super privacy, seclusion and a lovely lazy time with nothing to distract you from the hedonistic pleasures of life…
Nowadays there are options of hotels on the mainland where the resorts still have beach access but aren’t as exclusive and cut-away… So a limit on the privacy and distractions from hedonism, but compensated for by the price…
We have brought out for you a few such experiences – some in exclusive islands with the privacy and luxury and some in the mainland where one will miss the novelty of staying on an island where the only occupants are from your hotel but will have immersive experiences and see the real Maldives… Take a look… And book your trip to a world of hedonism… Trust me you can afford to slip into hedonism once in a while… 😉

The trip itself was executed flawlessly. Firstly, the travel app from Beyonder had all the details including local guide, driver numbers, e-visa, health insurance all in one place which was super handy. We also had regular contact with the team via WhatsApp status checks daily and all the planned activities and stays were better than expected. An ideal way to execute vacations stress free! Highly recommend team Beyonder.
