Culture in the heart of India 11D/10Nbeyonders2024-01-10T09:39:07+00:00
The heart of India, Madhya Pradesh has been inhabited for many centuries. The best part of it is that there are testaments and histories of these ancient settlements that are still visible in the form of forts and temples and sculptures to offer us with a fascinating glimpse of the ancient times, the people who lived then, their ways of life and the impact of those times on the culture of this land.
Come with us as we go Beyonder here…
Gaze in awe at the fascinating imageries and imaginations carved in stone in that ode to life, love and joy, the ancient Khajuraho temples (a World Heritage Site), the grandeur of the 16th century palaces and poignant history of Orchha, the forts and palaces of Gwalior which form a living heritage of heroism of a multitude of reigning dynasties and the 1000 year old temples of picturesque Chanderi and its exquisite sarees and brocades. Wind up this cultural feast with a couple of days in the 11th century city of Bhopal with the World Heritage sites of Sanchi (known for its stupas, monasteries, temples and pillars dating from the 3rd century BC to the 12th century AD) and Bhimbetka (famous for the rock shelters and painting that date back to the early Stone Age).
In case you crave for some relaxation amidst nature after this cultural and historical treat, you could opt for the additional module of a couple of days in Panchmarhi, a lovely hill town with its forests, valley, ravines, gorges and waterfalls, all girdled by the mountains of the Satpura range…
