Mystical Mustang

Itinerary Highlights
Ancient temples, bustling bazaars, and quiet monastery courtyards sit side by side in this Himalayan capital, where every street seems to hold a different piece of its long, layered history.Â
Calm lakes reflect the towering Annapurna range, while quiet lakeside cafés and boat-dotted waters set a slower rhythm against the drama of the mountains beyond. Come sunrise, the peaks catch the first golden light, turning the still water into a mirror of the Himalayas.Â
Beside the rushing Kali Gandaki, this mountain settlement sits in the shadow of Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri, the gateway to the ancient Mustang region. From here, roads wind to the sacred waters of Muktinath and the Tibetan-style village of Thini, where old traditions endure amid the high Himalayan air.Â
High above the Kali Gandaki valley, this revered pilgrimage site is holy to both Hindus and Buddhists, who come to bathe beneath its 108 water spouts and offer prayers. With Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri rising behind the temple, every ritual unfolds against a backdrop of towering Himalayan peaks.Â
Journey through the Kali Gandaki gorge, from the Tibetan-style charm of Kagbeni and Thini to the sacred shrines beneath Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri, each stop revealing a unique expression of Himalayan culture.Â

Nepal is a magical Himalayan kingdom where ancient faith, rugged landscapes and mountain traditions come together in every corner. The capital, Kathmandu, is a vibrant city of centuries-old temples, narrow lanes and fluttering prayer flags, offering a first taste of the country’s spiritual and cultural depth. A short flight to Pokhara brings travellers to a peaceful lakeside town, where still waters mirror the snow-capped Annapurna range and the pace of life slows to a gentle rhythm.Â
Beyond Pokhara, Nepal’s mountain heartland beckons. A scenic flight leads to Jomsom, a windswept settlement on the banks of the Kali Gandaki, gateway to the ancient Mustang region. From here, the road winds past the Gandaki Golden Bridge and the old village of Kagbeni to Muktinath, one of the most revered pilgrimage sites for Hindus and Buddhists alike, where 108 sacred water spouts and a hilltop temple sit beneath the towering peaks of Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri. The tour continues to Thini, a traditional Mustang village known for its Tibetan-Nepali architecture and quiet Himalayan views, and returns to Pokhara through Marpha, Kalopani and Tatopani, where a soak in the natural hot springs and a visit to the Baglung Kalika Temple complete the experience.Â
