Day 1:
Arrival and Mumbai tour

Arrive in Mumbai by train/flight and get transferred to your hotel. Depending on the time of arrival, head out to do a quick tour of the must-see sights of urban Mumbai and get back in time to walk the streets of this bustling city and experience the frenetic pace it sets. (B)

Day 2:
Elephanta Caves, Mumbai

Head out early to the network of sculpted caves located in Elephanta Island and marvel at the beauty and detail in the ancient carvings (5th-8th century AD) depicting scenes from Indian mythology. Relax and soak in this UNESCO World heritage site and get back by evening to chill out a bit ahead of a hectic few days ahead starting tomorrow (B)

Day 3:
Malshej Ghat – waterfall and foggy mountains

Drive out of Mumbai early in the morning, visit a vineyard along a scenic stretch of road and reach Malshej Ghat by the afternoon. Check-in to your hotel in this pristine hill town and admire the lovely views of craggy mountains stretching away with waterfalls slicing through the desolateness at regular intervals. Oh and the fog! It has to be experienced to be believed. (B)

Day 4:
Kaas Valley

An early morning walk around the rugged rock faces and mountains will set you in the mood for the experiencing of nature in its savage glory and pristine best that you are to experience in the coming days. Drive out in the afternoon and visit a couple of medieval forts in and around Pune before heading to your next destination – Kaas Valley. (B)

Day 5:
Nature in Kaas Valley – flowers and waterfalls

Imagine a black rocky terrain that suddenly opens into a valley vista of slopes covered with flowers of all colours. All around are slopes of pink, blue, violet, yellow etc. The colour broken only by the black rock or the water bodies… Acres upon acres of this heavenly burst of colour… This is Kaas Valley, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site. If you have time you could visit the Thosegar falls to see the majesty of thundering waterfalls that have actually cut a ravine into the mountains – nature’s savagery at its fiercest… And of course the Koyna dam that sees the confluence of 3 rivers in a man-made dam… (B)

Day 6:
Relax amid mountains in Lonavla

Drive down to Lonavla for some magnificent views and a relaxed colonial atmosphere. Stroll around the town and try out the local food and fresh fruits. You could also go out on a short trek – choose from the many routes there. (B)

Day 7:
Departure from Mumbai

Drive back to the concrete jungle and head straight to Mumbai airport/station for your flight/train back home. (B)
