Spain

Why visit Spain?

spain map outline

What comes to your mind when you think of Spain? My guess is football, Barcelona, Real Madrid , Christiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi!  Or is it the bull-fights, sea-faring ships, fierce colonizing warriors sailing away to discover new lands, tapas, wine… maybe Hemingway? That’s what my impression was…

But there is a Spain beyond all this… We travelled through some regions of Spain and discovered so much more to cherish… There is more to do

Spain enjoys long summers and pleasant year-round weather .Hot summers become mild with the ocean waves and winter months get a good dose of the sun.

Spain is home to some beautiful islands, from the party island Ibiza to the peaceful and scenic Majorca  Islands, there is a varied mix for different souls. Life after all is a Beach.

It’s a country that in my opinion is all about the landscapes, the varied cultures, the mix of the modern and traditional, the inventive cuisine, the museums..

It’s about the seemingly national obsession with enjoying of everyday pleasures – whether strolling in the parks, pausing for a siesta or dancing the night away…

Yes of course the regular sights and sounds are important, but the country’s charm really lies in its people and their unique lifestyle.

Spain has some of the world’s most famous – and wacky – festivals and fiestas, from bull racing to La Tomatina, the tomato throwing festival, to annual wine drenching festival. Besides, each Spanish town holds its own fiestas, when locals get together, dress up, eat, drink and celebrate.

Serving something tasty with your drink is a Spanish tradition. And the travel will be incomplete without a tapas experience.

Did I tell you about the sweets that can be bought in monasteries and secluded convents? They have preserved food recipes that date from the times of the Romans and the Moors.
