Our tour leader, Amoghvarsha, is an expert wildlife photographer- who will help you sharpen your photography skills and create the best stories from the trip. There will be one on one learning sessions covering the creative aspects of photography, light and exposure, shooting from moving Safari vehicles, and how to make the most of your photography equipment. We have chosen resorts with the best location to ensure maximum opportunity. Besides, Mara conservancy and our Naturalist cum guide will provide us with real-time information about animal movement so our photography group can be at the right time at the right place for some exclusive photography. Amoghavarsha will also help you with pre-trip discussions on the equipment that you would like to take with you.

Get ready to photograph the Big 5 in their natural element (African Lion, African Leopard, Cape Buffalo, African Elephant and the rhinoceros) and learn to use your still images to tell the story.

Day 1: 27th July, Thursday
Arrival at Nairobi

Pick up from the Airport and transfer to your hotel. Evening at leisure.

Day 2: 28th July, Friday
Great Rift Valley and Arrival in Mara

Start towards Masai Mara – on the way stop to get photographs of the Great Rift Valley. At the destination check into the Safari camp. The views from Serena are stunning, the annual migrations take place very close and most times visible from the resort itself as the resort is located right on the banks of the Mara river.

Day 3: 29th July, Saturday
Mara river

Start the day early and head out to photograph the migration. The focus is on spending a lot of time near the Mara River and in the hope getting good shots of the crossing.

Day 4: 30th July, Sunday
Game Drives around Serena

Start early morning, cover other areas around the Serena looking out for more game; the focus on this day will be on photographing the Big 5. The group would also cover the areas of Mara conservancy, which provide splendid landscape for game photography. Additionally, scout areas close to the Serengeti plains, near the Tanzania border.

Day 5: 31st July, Monday
At Fig Tree Camp

Head towards the next destination – the Mara Fig camp. Along the route, cover the other parts of the Mara triangle. By the end of the drive, the group would have covered the western wing of the triangle and with additional opportunities to get good shots of the migration.

Day 6: 1st August, Tuesday
Around Fig Tree Camp

Spend the next day around the eastern wing of the triangle and cover the rest of the Masai Mara national park. The area around the camp is well known for amazing game and splendid variety of birds, which one can shoot just from the camp. The camp itself is like an oasis in the middle of the savannas with thick trees all around.

Day 7: 2nd August, Wednesday
Birding at Lake Nakuru

Check out and drive early morning to Lake Nakuru, one of the most exotic locations in Kenya, known for its wide variety of Birds including the famous Flamingos that throng its shores. The place is also rich in animal life and makes for some wonderful photography opportunities.

Day 8: 3rd August, Thursday
Departure from Nairobi

After breakfast at the camp, check out and drive back to Nairobi, Kenya’s colorful capital city for lunch at a city restaurant. Get transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International airport for the onward departure flight..
